Framing Ferdinand is a 501(c)3 non-profit and an Indiana Main Street organization. Founded in 2024, our mission is simple: engage, promote, and grow Ferdinand for the betterment of everyone who lives and works here.
Our Story
Built by Ferdinand, for Ferdinand
Ferdinand has always been more than a dot on a map — it is a community shaped by generations of people who chose to invest in it. Framing Ferdinand grew out of a shared belief that Main Street deserves the same intentional energy that every great small town puts into the places its people gather, shop, eat, and celebrate.
The organization was formally established in 2024 and joined Indiana Main Street — a program of the Office of Community and Rural Affairs — to gain access to statewide resources, technical assistance, and a proven framework for downtown revitalization rooted in economic vitality, design, promotion, and strong organization.
We are entirely volunteer-driven. Every committee member, every event helper, and every board director gives their time because they believe the best version of Ferdinand is one worth working for.

The Main Street Four-Point Approach
Our four active committees each own a different dimension of what makes a downtown thrive. Together they form an integrated approach to community development.
Organization
Strong governance, financial accountability, and broad-based community support form the backbone of everything Framing Ferdinand does.
Economic Vitality
Recruiting new businesses, retaining existing ones, and building the conditions for commerce to thrive on Main Street year-round.
Design
Preserving Ferdinand's historic architecture while helping property owners and merchants improve storefronts and the public streetscape.
Promotion
Signature events like Walktoberfest and the Christkindlmarkt, social media, and marketing that tell Ferdinand's story to the region and beyond.
